Rice is planted all year round and they welcome guests who want to learn about Rice planting and other farm activities like bamboo weaving, sugar cane pressing, black smithing. The half day programme starts at 08.30 and finishes with a tasting of rice based snacks. After farming experience, we have lunch in the farm (a selection of typical Luang Prabang dishes and fruit.)

Proceeds from the Rice Experience go to supporting over 60 students with their studies and they operate free English classes for the whole village.

Great combination of the cultural & natural experience

Definitely a good choice for travellers who don’t have much time in Luang Prabang. The price of the tour is quite high but the tour actually combines more smaller tours and experiences and includes the lunch, so we found it reasonable at the end.

It all starts on the rice farm the Living Land where the particular steps of planting and harvesting rice are shown (this part was the best!), then you get a huge and tasty lunch on the farm and continue further to the famous Khuang Si Waterfalls stopping by a place which support the local tribes. Good organisation and interesting program.
