Memorable cultural experience
A true cultural emersion experience. The evening started with learning about the uses of bamboo in the present day as it had been for centuries for fish traps, baskets, housing chickens as well as building houses. We were given an opportunity to try our hand at weaving and also using a cross bow (also still used today for hunting small animals) and separating rice from the husks. Hands on cooking class in which we prepared delicious food including young tender bamboo appetizers. The entire dinner was SO delicious and prepared in a carefully sanitary condition to accommodate all diets. The evening ended with an extraordinary musical performance with a unique Lao instrument. A truly magical and memorable evening. It is so much more than just a weaving and cooking class. The name does not tell the full story. We highly recommend it.
