Wat Xiengthong
You will be picked up from your hotel for a half-day city tour with your own personal guide. Your first stop in the World Heritage town of Luang Prabang is the Royal Palace Museum, which hosts a range of interesting artifacts including a gold Buddha statue.

After a look around, take a short guided tour of the city’s oldest temple, Wat Sene, and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong; with its roof sweeping low to the ground, it's a good representation of classical Laotian architecture. Next, visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham. When your 5-hour tour concludes you will be returned to your hotel by private vehicle.

Guide arrived promptly. He spoke good English. He was very accommodating to our wishes to add the monk’s alms giving. He explained a lot of history of Laos at the museum and temples. Highly recommended!

This tour was so much better than the alms giving tour. The guide spoke good English, very knowledgeable in his explainations of the temples and royal palace visited. The tour guide was a former monk so his knowlegde of the temples were from an insider perspective.

Would recommend this tour especially over the poor alms giving tour we went on.
